Cheap Trick – Red, White & Blue Ash

It’s not every day you get the opportunity to have all access to shoot the concert by rock legends.  On July 4th I spent my independence day doing just that at the annual Red, White & Blue Ash concert with this years guest Cheap Trick.  I’m lucky enough to have friends who fairly regularly sing backup for Cheap Trick on tour.  Through them I was able to meet and hang for a bit with the band and was given free reign to shoot from wherever I wanted.  They were an absolute blast to photograph and were some of the nicest guys I’ve ever met, even though Rick was jokingly chucking guitar picks at me from stage, haha (yup, I saved them).

As the sun went down they light show began to really take shape, helping me create some of my favorite photos of the year during the later part of their set.  Enjoy the photos!
