J Roddy Walston and The Business / Pujol

J Roddy Walston and The Business sound like a raucous souther rock tinged band that could just as easily have been playing behind chicken wire on a stage in a blues bar in Texas as gracing the stage at the inimitable Ryman Auditorium.  J Roddy attacks the keys with the fury of a new-age Jerry Lewis with gravely vocals of drug use, paternal disappointment and coming of age.  The inaugural show at the Taft Theater Ballroom was J Roddy Walston back on March 24, 2012 and the definitely opened the venue with a bang.  I was at that show as a fan only and was blown away by the shear energy and frenetic stage presence of J Roddy.  Needless to say, I was hooked from the first song.  When I saw that they were returning to the Taft Ballroom just over a year later on April 30, 2013 I immediately knew I wanted to photograph the show.  Multiple times I got so wrapped up in the show that I had to remind myself to take photos.  Below is the result, I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them!
